Bluebird Group is a prominent Indonesian transportation company headquartered in Jakarta. Established in 1972 by Mutiara Fatimah Djokosoetono and her sons, Chandra Suharto and Purnomo Prawiro, the company began as a non-metered taxi service named Chandra Taksi, operating with private vehicles. It officially rebranded as Bluebird in 1972 after obtaining a permit from the Jakarta Office of Transportation. Starting with a fleet of 25 taxis, Bluebird expanded rapidly, reaching 500 vehicles by 1978 and 2,000 by 1985. The company pioneered innovations in Indonesia's taxi industry, including the introduction of meter-based fares, air-conditioned taxis, and GPS systems.
